Our best man is going to have a couple of notes on a card that he's going to read off of. He's going to be thanking people and making some announcements etc so he'll need it. I've been to a lot of weddings where they read off cards. Just make sure the card isn't tatty.

plz give speach in punjabi..i hope u will be able to speak in punjabi but if its really very important to speak in english then its ok,,
i thnik u can talk about her responsibilities which she is expected to fulfill after her marriage..its obvious that a girl need to change her attitude n behaviour after her marriage..becoz god created the woman to spread love everywhere.. she is the source of endless love…so its her duty to fill her new home with all the felicities which she used in her natives..to make her parents n siblings happy n feel proud in her presence…byeeee punjaban..

you want to have a general idea what you are going to say because it looks silly staring down at the paper the entire time
but glancing down to keep you place is no problem – just make sure you look around at the "audience" too
a good idea is to have general ideas on the paper and elaborate on your own

3 mins tops. not even 5 mins. you and the bride will write thank you’s after the wedding, so you can thank your parents and guests then. in fact there’s no reason for the bride or groom to do a speech at all at the wedding since you’ll be greeting each guest individually either during the receiving line after the ceremony, or at each table before or after dinner at the reception.

The Best Man and Maid of honor are the only ones who give speeches/toasts at the wedding. However if anyone else wants to they can but I would limit it to one or two or else half the reception will be speeches and guest would be board.

here is an outline-

*who you are and how you are related to bride and groom.

*talk about the couple, tell a fun story or two then make a serious statement about how their love is special.

*make some wishes for their future, mention one of their dreams along with health and happiness etc…whatever fits them.

*raise your glass and do a toast- invite everyone to lift their glasses also, and then say "Let’s all share a toast to ………..

The father of the bride is the host (traditionally) so he should speak first and welcome the guests.
Then someone should toast the bride and groom (could be bride’s father, best man, it doesn’t matter)
The groom then replies to the toast on behalf of his wife and himself.
Lastly someone should thank the host for the reception
